A Brace of Weddings:
Two weddings celebrated today are of interest to many Adelaide people.
At the Kent Town Methodist Church this evening Patricia Agnes Ryan (known to all her friends as 'Monty'), the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ryan, of Mount Bruce. Lucindale, S.E., was married to Philip Albert McBride, the eldest son of the Minister for the Army (Senator P. A. McBride) and of Mrs. McBride, of Portrush road, Glen Osmond. Her younger sister Mora and Joan Beauchamp were her two attendant maids, while Keith McBride was Phil's best man, and Bill Monfries groomsman. Monty's charming wedding gown was of white marquisette, interspersed with narrow panels of white lace. The sleeves were long and close-fitting, and the low, heart shaped neckline was edged with a narrow frill of marquisette. 'Something borrowed' was the lovely tulle wedding veil which Mrs. Colin Verco wore at her wedding not many months' ago. The bridesmaids wore identical frocks of palest pink marquisette cleverly pintucked to the hips, and then flared. Real pink and blue flowers fashioned their attractive half-wreath headdresses, and they carried match ing posies. Following the ceremony, at which the Rev. John Niele officiated, 60 guests are being entertained at the Oriental. They were received by Mrs. Ryan, wearing a dinner gown of orchid-blue crepe, and a matching bolero embroidered with pink and silver beading. A small matching hat and an orchid pinned on one shoulder completed the effect. For travelling Monty has chosen a light weight woollen dress and coat of an attractive shade of pale blue, worn with a black hat and black accessories. Monty has been staying this week with Mrs. Colin Verco at St. Corantyn, East terrace. Mrs. Verco (Katherine Bonython of yore) and Joan Beauchamp joined forces to give a linen tea in her honor on Wednesday, while Mardi Mitchell hostessed a coathanger luncheon party for her. Before she left Lucindale she was also entertained at a handkerchief tea, given late by Marjorie Daw.
