Edie left David Todd during WW2 and ended up in London where she met William Carter, (Shirley Clover's dad), he was Welsh and in the Merchant Navy with the supply ships that took victuals to the warships, known as the "Baltic Run" (which was very dangerous).

Edie lived in New Zealand for 35 years before her death in 1997.

Much loved grandmother of David and Tammy, Philip and Andrew, Stephen, Andrew and Allison, and great-grandmother to Kye Todd. Fond sister of Leslie Young (Scotland). Special thanks to the staff at Cranford Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers donations to Cranford hospice posted directly to PO Box 8119, Havelock North would be appreciated. Rest in peace with no more pain. Much loved friend to Judy, Rebecca, Glen, Wendy, Sean, James and Hayley. And wonderful companion to Ada over the last few months.
