Accident Near Bridge:
Two youths were treated at the S.C.D. Hospital following an accident at the intersection of Hindmarsh Road and Bridge Terrace near the Hindmarsh River late Monday afternoon. Their sports car was involved in a collision with a large sedan which had just crossed the railwayline. The driver, Peter Raymond Copas, 17, nurseryman, of Henley Beach Road, Lockleys, received lacerations to the head and a bruised chest. His passenger, Michael Jeffrey Rule, 18, clerk, of Grange Road, Lower Mitcham, was treated for lacerations to the forehead. The driver of the sedan was uninjured. The sports car was extensively damaged.

Three to contest election
Three nominations were received last week for Inman Ward in the District Council of Victor Harabor where an extra ordinary vacancy occurr ed following the recent resignation of Councillor W.F.J. Rawlins. The candidates are Peter Raymond Copas, Ian Robert Warner and Henry Lawrence Zerner, all local businessmen. The election will be held on Saturday, 2nd July, as will the mayoral election for which there are two candidates. The retiring mayor, Mrs. J.D. Beer, is being opposed by Mr. CM. Thorpe.

At the close of nominations on Friday, 20th May, 1977, the following valid nominations had been received:- Peter Raymond Copas, Ian Robert Warner, Henry Lawrence Zerner. There being more nominations received than required to fill the vacancy, all further proceedings were adjourned until Saturday, 2nd July, 1977, when polling will take place in the Town Hall, Victor Harbor, commencing at 8.00 a.m. and closing at 6.00 p.m. R.H. BARRY, Returning Officer.
