Last Saturday evening, at the Kangarilla Methodist Church, the marriage was celebrated of Cecil, elder son at Mr. and Ms. L. Smart, of Hill's View, Clarendon, and Pearl Petrel, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Paddick, of Yaroona, Kangarilla. The Rev. A. K. J'Ansen officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was smartly gowned in ivory satin, the bodice moulded to the figure, and with long sleeves and flared skirt. The embossed tulle bridal veil, which was edged with silver lace, was lent by her sister (Mrs. Micks). It was worn cap-wise, and held In place by a bandeau of orange blossom buds and formed the train. She carried a sheaf of white camellias with a touch of pink with pink streamers, and wore a pearl necklet. The three bridesmaids, Misses Hope and Ada Paddlck (bride's sisters), and Miss Elsie Thomas, were in different colors - blue, apricot, and pink crepe de chine ankle length, with long sleeves, and large bows at the back of waist. The lace straw hats matched each frock. They carried early Victorian posies of heuchera. Miss Betty Beck (bride's niece) was flower girl in rose pink georgette; early Victorian etyle, and she carried a basket of blossoms to tone. Mr. Vernon Smart was best man, and Messrs. Ralph and Boyce Paddlck groomsmen. A reception was held in the Kangarilla Hall, when more than 100 guests were entertained. The hall was decorated with blue, apricot, and pink streamers, and the tables arranged with Iceland poppies. The bride's mother (Mrs. Paddick) was gowned in cocoa toned silk marocain with touches of fawn, with hat en suite, and she carried a posy of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs. Smart (bridegroom's mother) wore a light navy wool crepe de chine ensemble, and carried a posy of red rosebuds. The bride's travelling frock was of fawn marocain, with lace collar and cuffs worn with a nigger brown face cloth coat, with Iamb's wool collar and a hat to match.
