Mrs Alan Dalzell presided over a large attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Medbury Women's Institute. The secretary (Miss Grace Dalzell) reported that two parcels for soldiers had been sent to Christchurch for dispatch to Egypt.

Winners of competitions were:- Tomato sauce. Miss Stancombe 1, Mrs Denne 2; jug cover,. Mrs Beath 1, Mrs Fletcher and Mrs Denne (equal) 2; bloom, Mrs Busch 1, Mrs Philpott 2.

Officers elected were:- President, Mrs Alan Dalzell; vice-presidents, Mrs Toshach and Miss Grace Dalzell: secretary, Mrs Cecil Brooker; treasurer, Mrs Beath; committee. Mesdames Busch, Denne, Ginders, Philpott. and Gilbert; sales table, Mrs Fletcher; competitions, Mrs Beath; librarian. Mrs H. Brooker; visitors' book.

Mrs Philpott; press reporter, Mrs C. Brooker.

Posies were presented to Mrs Alan Dalzell and Miss Grace Dalzell.

Competitions for the year resulted:- Cookery, Mrs Denne 1, Mrs H. H. Brooker 2; bloom, Mrs Fletcher 1, Mrs Philpott 2; handwork and sewing, Mrs Denne 1, Mrs Fletcher 2.

Hostesses at the tea hour were Mrs Ginders and Mrs Gilbert.
