I have found no SA registration for Ernest William Hocking, but I have included him as he is part of the Hocking Family Tree on Ancestry - author Robert Hocking.
There is however an Amos Hocking born Coromandel Valley SA on 23 Oct 1856 - perhaps he was inadvertently registered as Amos.

Death of Mr. E.W Hocking
Perth, April 15. Ernest William Hocking, of Mount street, died tonight, aged 86. He was born at CoromandeL Valley, South Australia, and spent the early part of his life in that State and in Broken Hill as a timber merchant. He came to Western Australia in 1897 and was a prominent figure in mining and sporting circles. He held an interest in the 'Kalgoorlie Miner' newspaper, of which his brothers Percy and Sidney were the founders Several successful racehorses in this State were owned or part-owned' by him. For some years he was a member of the Perth City Council. He is survived by a widow, one daughter and a stepson. The funeral will be private.

Mr. E. HOCKING DIES AGED 86
Mr. Ernest William Hocking who was, prominent in mining circles and on the turf in this State for nearly 50 years died in Perth last night.
Born in South Australia 86 years ago, Mr Hocking was educated at Prince Alfred College before joining the Education Department. For some years he was a teacher. He retired to join a timber merchant's business at Port Pirie and this he later extended to Broken Hill.
Coming to this State shortly after two of his brothers had inaugurated the Kalgoorlie Miner, he took a proprietary interest in that paper though he did not take part in its conduct.
He engaged in mining activities for some years at Kalgoorlie and then came to Perth to reside. Taking part in municipal activities he was elected to the Perth City Council.
He was one of the foundation members of the Perth Club having been a member of the Stock Exchange Club from which the other originated.
For many years Mr Hocking, was prominent, in racing. He became a member of the W.A. Turf Club committee and owned and raced many high-class horses, several of which were successful in principal events.
A kindly and generous man, Mr Hocking enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Of late years he was practically confined to his home. His remains were privately buried at Karrakatta Cemetery today.

A Large Estate.
The late Mr Ernest William Hocking, of Mount-street, Perth, who died on April 15 at the age of 86 years, left estate which has been valued for probate at £29,042/14/7. The beneficaries under the will are the testator's widow, Mrs Elizabeth Hocking, his daughter, Mrs M. L Montgomerie, his stepson, Mr Cyril Poole, and his grandchildren, Pamela White and Ernest White. Born at Coramandel Valley, South Australia, the late Mr Hocking spent his early life in that State, where he was a timber merchant. He came to Western Australia in 1897 and became a prominent figure in mining and sporting circles. He was a keen follower of the turf and at one time had a big string of horses, several of which he bred. In one season his trainer had 15 horses belonging to Mr Hocking, and they all won races. His colours were later carried to victory in many important events He held an interest in the "Kalgoorlie Miner" newspaper, of which his brothers, Messrs Percy and Sydney Hocking, were the founders. For some years he was a member of the Perth City Council.

£29,000 Estate
Mr Ernest William Hocking, investor, who died on April 15, 1943, at the age of 86, left estate valued for probate at £29,042/-.14/7. He directed, in his will, that £10,000 be held in trust to provide income for his widow during her lifetime, and that this amount, with the residue of his estate, be for the benefit of his daughter, Mavis Lucia Montgomerie. Other bequests were £2250 to his stepson Cyril Henry Pearce Poole; £1000 to his granddaughter Pamela White, and £500 to his grandson Peter Geoffrey White.
