1909 SA Death 338/373 KIESELBACH Mary Ann Eugen Johann Adolf KIESELBACH (H) Grey

Border Watch (Mount Gambier, SA : 1861 - 1954) Sat 23 Jan 1909
OBITUARY.
Mrs. Mary Ann Kieselbach. -General and widespread regret was expressed on Wednesday morning, when it became known that Mrs. Kieselbach, wife of Mr. Ad. Kieselbach, of the Mount Gambier Coffee Palace and an old and respected resident of the Mount, had passed away at her residence. The deceased had been in weak health for some years. In November of 1907 she underwent a serious operation in the North Adelaide private hospital. Mrs. Kieselbach did not make a complete recovery, and suffered from the effects of the operation up till the time of her death. She had, however, been able to get about until lately, when her condition was such as to cause her family considerable anxiety. On Saturday evening she took a serious turn, and, hemorrhage of the liver setting in, she passed away peacefully at 11.45 on Wednesday morning. The deceased lady was born in Mount Gambier in 1855, and was therefore 53 years of ago. She had resided here most of her time. Being of a kindly disposition, Mrs. Kieselbach was always to the fore in assisting in any charitable function, and when in good health visited the Mount Gambier Gaol and Hospital regularly. She was a member of the State Department Visiting Committee, and of the Boys' Institute Committee. She was married in the Mount Gambier Presbyterian church by the Rev. R. A. Caldwell in December, 1873. Some years ago the deceased went on a health trip to Great Britain. She was a popular singer of Scottish songs, and was always willing to assist in local entertainments. She leaves a husband, three sons -Messrs. Henry, Alex. Donald, and Dugald Albert -and one daughter -Miss Milly -to mourn her loss. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon. There was a large following of vehicles to the new cemetery, where the remains were interred. Numerous floral tributes were received, and included wreaths from the employes of the Coffee Palace, the Presbyterian Church choir, and the Boys' Institute. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. D. Finlayson. Mr. G. B. Renfrey carried out the funeral arrangements.
