COMMENTS ON CURRENT TOPICS
KANGAROOS AT IRONBANK.
From FENELLA MORGAN, Ironback: -
A report in the press about tame kangaroos at Ironhank appears to have aroused the ambition of some, would be sportsmen. Recently a party journeyed by motor car to the locality of the easy game armed with rifles, revolvers, and shotguns, and after surrounding a small pet kangaroo on private property the fun began. Volley after volley were fired in the brave attempt to bring the creature down; then a shot took effect and perseverance was rewarded. The men then ventured near enough to divest the animal of its skin and tail. There are also pet robins in the neighbourhood which will feed out of any ones hand providing the right kind of food is used. These would make a less dangerous target for such marksmen. It is hoped that any other person anticipating similar indulgence in such mean sport will take this as a warning, as legal proceedings will be taken in case of a repetition of the offence.
