Dear Auntie Kitty.-This is the first time I have written to you, and I sincerelv hope you will let me be a member of your merry band. I am 10 years of age, and am in Standard V at school. I have two brothers and one sister, but they are all older than I am. I like reading, and having a lot of animals, the latter I love very much, and if it would not be too much trouble could you please find me a pen friend that is fond of the same things? The authors I like best are Mary Grant Bruce, E. S. Ellis and G. A. Henty, but Mrs. Bruce is the favorite. I must close now for it is getting late. -I remain your loving niece, RYDER HUGHES. Misses Mary Smythe, Dallas Mofflin and Lucy Eddington entertained at a party at the Hotel Adelphi last Saturday in honour of Miss Miriel Hughes prior to her marriage. Tea was served in the green lounge, and a competition added to the interest of the afternoon, during which the guest of honour received many good wishes for her future happiness. The guests included Misses Jess Gray, Ryder Hughes, Marion Mofflin, Mary Hurst, and Eileen Nolan.
