That John Hewes is the son of John Hewes is completely conjectural.
He may be the son of one of John Hewes brothers.
Part of John's life fell within the years of the Commonwealth of England 1649 - 1660, a notorious period for vital records.
However the College of Arms Pedigree records he was a Church Warden of St Andrew Newton Kyme 1673-74 & 1682.
A Church Warden's duties included ensuring bread & wine was available for the Holy Communion at a cost to the Parish, and to account for the offertory.
