Girl Cyclist's Narrow Escape
Thrown in the path of an approaching motor car when her bicycle skidded in a tramline on the Henley Beach road, Mile End, shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday, Valma Hinton 18, of Marion road, Cowandilla, narrowly escaped serious injury. The car, which was driven by Eric William Spargo, of Victoria street, Mile End, passed over the bicycle, considerably damaging it, but the cyclist missed a direct collision, and suffered only shock and abrasions. She was admitted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
