The Advertiser Tuesday 10 October 1933 WEDDINGS THOMKINS - HALL At the Croydon Church of Christ, Dorothy N., eldest daughter of Mr. W. T. Hall and the late Mrs. Hall, of Bowden, and Frederick, only son of Mr. A. Tomkins and the late Mrs. Tomkins, of Croydon, were married by Pastor E. J. Paternoster. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white crepe satin with a yoke of angel skin lace. The gored skirt formed the train. The sleeves were puffed to the elbow with tight-fitting lace cuffs. The long tulle veil, edged with fine French lace, formed a train. It was gathered at the back on to a lace cap. The bride carried a sheaf of white flowers and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Eugenie Hall (sister), Thelma Begent (cousin) and Jessie Watson, wore frocks of shrimp pink crepe satin. The tight-fitting bodices were trimmed with ruching forming a coatee effect. The gored skirts merged into trains. The cowl sleeves were tight fitting from the elbow. The bridesmaids carried posies of forget-me-nots, sweet peas and mignonette. Large picture hats of crinoline straw and gauntlet gloves were worn. Mr. Keith Johns was best man and Messrs. A. Warner and Stanley Hall groomsmen. During the signing of the register Mrs. Arthur Druce sang "My Prayer." Miss Pearl Waters was the organist. The wedding breakfast was held in the church hall. The bride travelled in a frock of daffodil green and grey floral crepe-de-chine and a wool-de-chine coat of bottle green. A straw hat trimmed with green completed her toilette.
