The Lutheran Church, Laura, was the scene of a pretty wedding on May 30th, when Freida, second daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. P. Leschke, was married to Jack, second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Drage, of (Medindie, formerly of Laura. Rev. W. F. Roehrs officiated. The bride entered the church with her brother-in-law, Mr. O. Schumann, of Gladstone, beautifully frocked in a figured satin, long waisted frock, buttoned down the back, the veil, lent by Mrs. Ted Winneke. was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of sweet peas and carnations. The matron of Honour, Mrs. O. Schumann (sister of the bride), wore a frock of hyacinth blue, with cyclamon pink applique on the shoulders, with hat to match, and carried a sheaf of sweet peas and carnations. Mr George Drage (brother of the groom) was best man. Phyllis Scott was flower girl, frocked in pink taffeta with blue bows on the front and a halo of pink net and blue flowers, and carried a basket of sweet peas and carnations. The bride and matron of honour wore lockets, a gift from the groom and the flower girl a gold brooch, a gift from the bride and groom. The happy couple left the church midst showers of confetti and horse shoes were hung on the bride's arm by Pamela Schultz and Kevin Meissner. During the signing of the register, Mr. G. Gersch rendered a solo "Perfect Love." After the ceremony about 40 guests were entertained at a reception held in the Parish Hall, where the usual toasts were honoured and the remainder of the evening was spent in games, competitions, and items were rendered by a number of the guests.
