Dickens-Raston Wedding at Tammin.
A WEDDING of interest to residents of Tammin and Pithara districts was solemnised recently at Tammin when Lois Mary, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. A. Raston, of Ecclepechan, Tammin, was married to Bernard Frederick, second son of Mr. A. and the late Mrs. Dickens, of Pithara. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. N. Hicks. Mrs. A. S. Hocking played the wedding march and during the signing of the register sang "I Love You Truly." The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Ross Raston, looked graceful in a frock of ivory satin with draped neckline and sleeves and a short train. She wore a beautiful veil of appliqued net and carried a sheef of cream rosebuds and gladioli. Mrs. Clive Leveson-Gower, sister of the bride, was matron-of-honour and wore a pretty frock of pink quilted taffeta with touches of gold and a veiled toque to match and carried a sheaf of shaded pink flowers. Two little trainbearcrs-Joy Danielson and Norma Dickens, both nieces of the bridegroom-wore long gowns of pink fancy taffeta with touches of gold and gold haloes and carried posies of matching flowers. The best man was Mr. Vic. Hartree, of Pithara. The bride's mother wore black silk velvet with hat to match and carried a colourful posy. After the ceremony the guests travelled to Kellerberrin, where a reception was held in the C.W.A. building, the tables being decorated with Iceland poppies and Geraldton wax. The usual toasts were honoured and several vocal items enjoyed, affer which the guests were invited to the home of the bride to view the display of wedding gifts. During the evening; the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in an ensemble of coronation blue with gold ornaments and a halo hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Dickens will make their home in Pithara.
