Chronicle (Adelaide, SA : 1895 - 1954) Thu 7 Dec 1939 Page 98 Historic Nairne Reunion THERE was an historic reunion at the Nairne Centenary celebrations last Saturday when 52 grandchildren and great grandchildren of Laurance and Marianne Stodart assembled in the lounge at the Miller's Arms for afternoon tea to commemorate the landing in South Australia of their pioneering antecedents. Mr. and Mrs. Stodart, with their three children (Thomas, Mary and John) arrived here in the barque Palmya on November 11, 1839, and immediately settled at Nairne. They built for their dwelling house the original part of what is now the Miller's Arms Hotel. A reproduction of the family tree, dating back to 1066, was placed on the wall for descendants present to study with interest.
