DISTRICT COUNCIL OF MURAT BAY
Those present at the October meeting of the District Council of Murat Day were Crs. E. M. Borlase (chairman), W. O. Kloeden, T. D. Drever, C. H. Collins, H. W. H. Denton and the clerk and overseer (Mr. H. A. Betts). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Apologies were received from Crs. W. H. Sedgley and D. E. Maloney for unavoidable absence. The chairman personally thanked all who helped in anyway to assist him with arrangements made with the viceregal visit. The clerk's report was received.
Overseer's Report: The acting overseer reported that the work of grubbing the road opposite S. J. Ettridge's farm had, been completed. Work was now being done in grubbing and widening the road out back from Mudamuckla. The wind mill at the Government tank had been rebuilt and was now in working order. The grader operator had completed the patrolling of road between Denial Bay and the telegraph line, which was now in satisfactory condition. Delays had occurred during the month owing to a breakdown of patrol grader, for which new parts had to be obtained. The grader is now working on the Smoky Bay road.
The council then sat to hear appeals against the revised assessment.
